Spot does not cover pre-existing conditions

Spot's coverage covers pre-existing conditions. This is a departure from most pet insurance plans. The policy does not cover certain health conditions. For instance, dental disease, hip dysplasia, intervertebral disk disease, and other hereditary conditions aren't covered. Dental and orthodontic procedures as well expenses related to daycare and boarding are some other exclusions. The insurance policy does not cover cosmetic procedures, bilateral conditions, or any other treatment.

Spot’s pre-existing disease policy doesn’t cover arthritis treatment. The insurance company defines a "pre-existing" condition as any medical condition that existed before Spot's plan was issued. Unless the condition has been cured, insurance companies will not cover arthritis treatment. The policy does not have a maximum age, but customers will need to pay a minimum $2,500 deductible in order to cover vet bills.
