Access Health CT is the new state's health insurance marketplace. Access Health CT will offer small and large businesses the opportunity to purchase health insurance at federally subsidised rates. The new marketplace will be open from January 1st. There are many factors you need to consider when choosing health insurance.

Plans offered

Access Health CT provides plans that include ten essential medical benefits. Some services can be provided for free. These plans have different monthly rates. The metal level allows you to compare the costs of different plans. The lowest-cost catastrophic plan has a low monthly premium, but covers only 60 percent of costs. This plan is for people who require extensive medical treatment, such as a hospital stay and an acute illness. The coverage limits are also lower, and you can enroll in this type of plan at any time of the year.

Access Health CT offers plans for both individuals and families. Silver plans offer a wider range of services and lower deductibles for prescription drugs. If you only need to use certain medical services every now and then, you may want to consider a Silver plan. Cost-Sharing Reductions may be available, which reduce out-of pocket costs for coinsurance and deductibles. For these options to be available, you must sign up for a Silver level plan.

The platinum plan offers comprehensive coverage and is recommended for those who want it. Platinum plans provide coverage for 90 percent of healthcare costs. They are usually designed for those with severe health conditions. You can also get catastrophic plans for residents younger than 30 years old and those who are eligible for a hardship exemption. While this plan does not offer as much coverage, it has a lower premium than the deductible. The plans also come with varying levels of financial assistance.

Access Health CT plans are available to those who are already covered under an employer-sponsored plan. To sign up for this plan, however, you must wait until the fall open enrollment period. You may be eligible to change to the Covered Connecticut program. However, you may not be eligible to receive tax credits. Therefore, wait until the Special enrollment period.

Access Health CT, Connecticut's newest health insurance marketplace, will offer affordable health insurance coverage for individuals and small-businesses at federally subsidized rates. You should consider enrolling in Access Health CT if you are without insurance or need to replace it.

Tax credits available

Tax credit can be used to help individuals and families afford their health insurance premiums. It is available to individuals and families earning up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level. The credit is available to those who earn the required amount. They can then use it to buy bronze, silver or gold health insurance plans.

After enrolling in an insurance policy, the credit will be available immediately.
